About Me:: I am 52, I live in Big Bear Lake, California, a tourist ski/lake community. We are an hour drive from the rest of the world, a small community of about 20,000 year round residents. We have a wonderful lifestyle, slower than the pace of a large town, like living back in the South where I grew up. I do accounting, office work, photography and web design for a living. I am very happily married and have a son soon to be 27.

Tell a little about the person lost...: My brother Robert, my only sibling made his transition 2 years ago January 24,2006. I still cannot get over it. He was 54 and wanted to live. He was diagnosed with Chirrhosis and a year later with Liver cancer, but he died due to a stupid doctor mistake. He had developed a dry cough and went to his doctor. The Dr. prescribed g Keflex for the infection and told him he could take advil for the pain. 4 days later he was spitting up blood. The ER doctors told us the Advil ate a hole in his stomach and killed him. They did not try to repair the hole in his stomach for almost a week because being on the top of the liver transplant list, they felt if they opened him up he would cease the little liver function he still had. The day they finally took him in to repair the hole in his stomach he begged his nurse for help he was in so much pain. they took 7 litres of fluid out of his stomach before surgery. He never woke up, we had to make the decision let him die because they could not save him. I miss him so much, he lived next door to me the last 7 months of his life and lived down the street the last 2 years before that so I was very close to him, he was my friend. The last thing he promised my mom before I took him to emergency was that he was not going to die, he had no clue his life was over due to a stupid, stupid mistake.
